Known superpowers: Jubilee is a mutant with the superhuman ability to generate what she calls her "fireworks": energy globules that vary in degrees of power and intensity. The globules obey her mental control, traveling where she directs them, arranging themselves in balls, streamers, and other shapes, and exploding when she wishes. These combinations may result in anything from a multitude of colorful sparkles capable of temporarily blinding a person to a fairly powerful detonation, capable of smashing tree trunks or metal objects. She can absorb these "fireworks" back into her own body without harm to herself.
Another use of her plasmoids is blowing matter up on subatomic level. Jubilee almost never uses this power, only if she's VERY scared or angry. Preferably both.
Jubilee's other abilities include invisibility to mental scans - when she really wants to hide, neither telepaths nor computer scanners are able to detect her. Jubilee's mind is as slippery as her body, and it's hard even for strong telepaths to control her thoughts. Why, she resisted Dracula's mental attack once!

History: Jubilation "Jubilee" Lee was born and raised in Beverly Hills as the daughter of two prosperous Chinese immigrants, Dr. and Mrs. Lee. She attended an exclusive Beverly Hills school where she became an extremely talented gymnast. She also discovered her very own mutant powers one day, trapped by mall security police in a dead end. In fear and panic Jubilee shot bright globules of energy, which exploded in front of the policemen, blinding them and letting Jubilee escape.
One weekend her parents lost their money in the stock market. That same weekend two goons called Remo and Molokai on the order of Hunter Brawn killed Dr. and Mrs. Lee, imitating a car accident.
Orphaned and impoverished, with nowhere to live, Jubilee was sent to the Los Angeles County Juvenile Hall. There she learned how to defend herself and became rebellious towards authority. The Juvenile Hall authorities arranged to send her to another orphanage. Fearing that she might eventually be sent to live with her only living relatives, who were in Communist China, Jubilee ran away to the Hollywood Mall.

At first she survived as a petty thief, stealing whatever she needed. Then one day Jubilee had an idea of using her mutant powers for survival. For a while she earned a living by creating "fireworks" displays for the mall customers with her superabilities, which irritated the security to no end.
Then one day, mall security, having failed to capture her yet again, contacted the novice mutant hunters known as the M Squad. Luckily, several female members of the X-Men - Dazzler, Psylocke, Rogue, and Storm - happened to be shopping at the Hollywood Mall that day. They foiled the M Squad's attempt to capture Jubilee. Fascinated by these women, Jubilee secretly followed them until they exited via a teleportation portal provided by the mutant aborigine Gateway back to the small town in the Australian outback, where the X-Men were then based. Before the portal closed, however, Jubilee jumped in.
She emerged in front of Gateway moments after the female X-Men had left the scene. Gateway verbally welcomed Jubilee, although he had never spoken to any of the X-Men, led her to a tunnel, and pushed her down into it. She landed in the vast underground cavern that stored the bounty of the Reavers, the criminal cyborgs who had previously been the town's sole residents.
Jubilee created a living space for herself within the cavern. Although part of her wanted to connect with the X-Men, she did not trust anyone yet, mutant or otherwise. So she kept her presence a secret, watching the X-Men from her hiding place. She became a scrounger, taking food and clothing from the X-Men while they were busy elsewhere. In a fight with a cyborg dingo, one of Donald Pierce's pets, Jubilee discovered that her "fireworks" could actually be used as a weapon.
When the X-Men were attacked by Nanny and her Orphan-Maker, Jubilee was confronted by Nanny herself. The young mall rat managed to damage Nanny's exosuit and escaped successfully.
She finally emerged from hiding after most of the X-Men had abandoned their Australian base and the returning Reavers had captured and crucified the X-Man Wolverine. After Wolverine succeeded in freeing himself, she helped him escape to safety.
Over the following months Jubilee accompanied Wolverine in his travels through Asia. The two became very close during that time.

Jubilee finally met Professor Charles Xavier, the founder of the X-Men, when they were both captured by the alien Warskrulls. She wasn't really impressed. Subsequently, when the X-Men reunited under Xavier's leadership, she became a full member of the team. She continued to accompany Wolverine frequently on his solo missions. After one of those (which took place when the Sentinels decided to make all the humans crispier than chilly fries) Jubilee and Logan found Remo and Molokai, the two thugs that had killed Jubilee's parents. Well… she didn't kill this couple, but she did blind them and then kick them both for good measure. That's because Jubes is really a kind person. J

After the X-Men defeated the techno-organic Phalanx race, Xavier decided to found a new school where the various teenage mutants whom the Phalanx had captured would be trained in the uses of their superhuman powers. Hence, Husk, M, Skin, and Synch became members of a new mutant team, Generation X. Jubilee was one of the X-Men who rescued those mutant youngsters (others being Banshee, Emma Frost and Sabertooth). She joined the Generation X in order to learn better control over her mutant powers, while Banshee and Frost became the teachers of the new team (the Massachusetts Academy, Emma's property, became Generation X's base of operations).
Jubilee quickly became the team player in Generation X that she had been with the X-Men. Despite her characteristically cynical remarks, Jubilee came to love and trust the members of her new team as if they were her new family. There was a little romance between Jubilee and Synch, but he decided he liked M more. Men are such pigs.
Unfortunately, in the midst of Mondo's betrayal of the team, Operation: Zero Tolerance hit and Jubilee was captured by Bastion. Throughout the rest of OZT, she remained his prisoner and was constantly being interrogated for information concerning her former team, the X-Men. But Jubilee's a strong-willed teenage mutant hero with extraordinary mental defences, and Bastion, well... he's a loser. He couldn't beat much information from her, as hard as he tried. More than that, Jubilee managed to help the captured X-Men escape from Bastion's base.
Later with the help of Daria, Bastion's cyborg assistant, Jubilee escaped from Zero Tolerance, and after having some more adventures with the X-Men she returned to Generation X.
Jubilee's time with Generation X wasn't exactly filled with joy and happiness, especially after Adrienne Frost, Emma's sister, became the headmistress of the Academy and brought human students "in order to overcome financial problems". In reality Adrienne hated her sister and had secretly planned to destroy Generation X in order to torture Emma. Adrienne's plans resulted in destruction of Jubilee's room by fire (Jubilee lost all the tokens she still had of her past, like Logan's cowboy hat and the only existing photo of her parents) and Synch's death. That was just too much for Emma, who decided to forget she was one of the good guys now and killed Adrienne in cold blood.
